44 millimetres of possibilities

An ESE pod is around 44 mm wide and typically contains about 7 grams of coffee. The format is standardised, so an ESE-compatible machine lets you choose pods from different brands. Always check that both the coffee and the machine support ESE.

Not all pods are the same

ESE pods are designed for espresso. Senseo pads have a different size and brewing system. Capsules are another category again. Look for ESE or ESE 44 mm on the packaging; the word “pod” alone is not enough.

Less preparation, more coffee break

Grinding, dosing and tamping are already done. This makes brewing straightforward and repeatable. Taste is still personal: the blend, machine, water and amount in your cup all make a difference.

Little pods have a footprint too

The pod contains coffee and filter paper, but it may also come in a separate protective wrapper. Disposal instructions vary by product and country. Check the packaging and local waste guidance; paper does not automatically mean everything can go on a compost heap.
